Creating short-term cash pools

Being able to save money is one of those skills that is like the unicorn in the forest. Everyone fantasizes about it but no one is able to find it. With some tips and due diligence it is truly possible to do so without changing your habits majorly.

Pay yourself first. When you receive any amount of money, ie. paycheck, inheritance, lawsuit, find a twenty dollar bill on the street, don't decide how you want to spend it, decide how you can save it. One of the easiest way to never save money is to pay all your bills and buy everything you need from your paycheck and then put whats left into savings. If you are anything like I am, this is exactly what you do. Instead add up your bills and known expenses and before you pay for anything at all, put some money away into your savings account. Do this EVERY time you get paid and you will see that account grow steadily. I just started this and have saved almost $200 in two months. It doesn't seem like much but this time next year I'm going on vacation.

Once you have a little money saved. Open a few more savings accounts, preferably ones without fees or minimum balances. Shop around. Start splitting the money into separate uses. Have one account for emergencies, one for that vacation you need or for a present for yourself and finally one for the long -term. Once the emergency account has anywhere from $2500 to $5000, stop putting money in it and don't touch it until, you guessed it, an emergency occurs. This will help keep you from using credit to pay for them. Then take the money you were putting into the emergency fund every month and drop it into one of your other accounts, preferably the personal present one until that goal is reached. Once both those accounts are full, Put all of your future savings into the long-term account. Be sure to either open a money market or high interest savings account for the long-term because if you keep it in the bank you will lose about 4% a year on average just because of inflation.

These are just some starter tips for the average lower middle class to upper middle class people and there will be more tips soon. Keep watching for them in the very near future.

How to make money outside of work

There are various ways to make money on your spare time that can sometimes become so profitable that you can quit your job and work a minimal work schedule. First things first, all of these integrate the internet in some way shape or form so I hope that you have some basic knowledge of how to get around online.

One thing I have tried and seems to be a decent venture is selling stuff on Ebay. Now it can be very difficult at first to sell certain items and from my experience there are items that just won't sell no matter what you do. You have to choose a product or a group of products and then find some way to get it much cheaper than anyone else. The best way I have found is either yard sales or auctions if you can get an in on them. Yard sales are not only fun but they get you out of your house on the weekends. One problem is that when you are there you cannot access the internet and therefore have no way of researching what you want to sell. Anyways, there is a lot of research involved but if you stick to it and learn the market there is no reason you can't make a decent amount of money through Ebay. Here are some tools that will help you get started on Ebay.

Secondly, there are a bunch of "make money from home online" type products and courses available. Although getting off the ground with these are difficult, some of them provide VERY good training and information related to online marketing and website building. One of the best I have found and actually used is The Profit Lance System. Now this system is not the typical get rich quick scheme but it is a collection of various eBooks and marketing tools and links which are all free once you have signed up. I have used many of the tips in this wealth of information and been able to get more traffic to sites I have within a week of starting. Considering the price I had to do my research and have not found any negative reviews on the course. If you have a website or product you are trying to sell or are even wanted to start something online I highly recommend this course being your first step. Also try these website building and online promotional tools.

One final VERY useful website listed below is one very good collection of articles all related to advertising on and offline. Feel free to browse through all of the articles and you will be well on your way promoting your website or business to the fullest extent.

I hope that you try out some of these tools and venture into the multi-billion dollar online market. Good Luck.
